Yesterday the world lost an honest, genuine, positive man. He loved playing cards and watching the Cubs. He was more likely to sit back and observe a conversation than jump in. Blue pinstripe overalls were his work attire at the farm, and I always thought of a train conductor when he wore his matching pinstripe hat. Since he wasn’t allowed to eat chocolate, I always had my fill of candy orange slices and spice drops when visiting.
This week we’ll celebrate your life. We’ll do our best not to be sad, because we know you’re somewhere better now. God called you home, Grandpa.
